Initial Teacher Training (ITT)

Are you involved in teacher training, or would you like to be?
School involvement in ITT is vital in order to train the next generation of teachers and has many benefits to the school and its community.
We are part of a regional consortium of Teaching School Hubs across the region committed to providing the very best training for new teachers. These are:
- Flying High Teaching School Hub
- Redhill Teaching School Hub
- Spencer Teaching School Hub
- Potentia Teaching School Hub

Helping you to access the best teachers of the future
We work with a number of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers offering different routes into teaching, with each route meeting the needs of particular applicants. Our job is to actively promote ITT as part of the DfE strategy to attract teachers to the profession and to facilitate the selection and placement of trainee teachers within our member schools.
This offers schools the opportunity to access the best candidates at the earliest stage of the recruitment process.
To support initial teacher training, we will be working on 3 aims over the academic year based on an audit of local needs outlined here.Â

Pathways into Teaching
We have created a comprehensive document with all you need to know to find out more about the different ways you can support Initial Teacher Training, funding and key links. You can also view a directory of all the local and national ITT providers, and the range of routes which award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) across our region.
