Appropriate Body Service

Appropriate Body
Flying High Teaching School Hub provides the statutory Appropriate Body service for schools with ECTs across the East Midlands, in particular Nottinghamshire, Nottingham City and Derbyshire.
We provide independent quality assurance of the statutory induction for early career teachers (ECTs) to ensure schools are providing adequate support and that their assessment is fair and consistent.
At the heart of our remit sit Early Career Teachers, therefore those utilising the DfE funded training provider route ensures both the ECF and Appropriate Body elements of their induction are joined up and coherent.
This enables the induction experience and learning to be maximised for the ECTs in order to gain the experience, confidence and resilience needed to go forward into their future career.
Our offer
The Appropriate Body team is an integral part of the our Early Career Team, which helps to provide a joined up offer to our schools and ECTs. We have a dedicated team who will support you to understand the statutory requirements of an ECT Induction as well as registration, completion of reviews and sign off of induction.
Our expert team of QA advisors are former school leaders with experience in supporting and developing staff, coaching and leadership across all phases of education.
